The total value of tokenised U.S. Treasuries has surpassed $8.7 billion, marking a significant milestone in the growing intersection between traditional finance and blockchain technology. Data from RWA.xyz reveals that the market now holds assets worth over $8.73 billion, a 1.8% increase in the past week. The number of participating holders has also climbed above 57,900, reflecting a 6% growth during the same period. This surge underscores the rising appetite for regulated, yield-bearing digital assets backed by the security of U.S. government bonds.

Tokenised Treasuries transform conventional U.S. sovereign debt and money market funds into blockchain-based products, offering investors a transparent and efficient way to access stable returns. These products currently provide an average annual yield of around 3.72%, appealing to both institutions and crypto-native investors seeking low-risk exposure within the digital asset ecosystem.

Securitize has emerged as the leading player in this expanding sector, commanding roughly 33.5% of the market with tokenised assets worth about $2.92 billion. The company’s dominance is largely driven by the BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL), which alone holds approximately $2.83 billion. Following closely are Ondo Finance, with a market capitalization of $1.47 billion, and Circle, whose treasury-backed product has reached $948 million in value. Ondo’s recent integration of Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) further strengthens its infrastructure, enabling real-time pricing feeds and greater cross-chain functionality.

Traditional asset managers are also deepening their presence in the tokenized treasury space. Franklin Templeton manages more than $852 million in tokenised assets, while WisdomTree oversees about $642 million. Their growing involvement signals increasing institutional confidence in blockchain as a legitimate and scalable platform for managing real-world assets.

The rise of tokenised U.S. Treasuries represents a crucial step in merging traditional finance (TradFi) with decentralized finance (DeFi). Beyond offering liquidity and faster settlements, these instruments allow investors to earn predictable yields without leaving the blockchain environment. From crossing the $100 million mark in mid-2023 to exceeding $1 billion shortly after, and now reaching $8.7 billion, the rapid progression highlights how tokenized government securities are becoming a cornerstone of digital asset portfolios. As adoption widens, the blending of traditional stability with blockchain innovation could redefine the future architecture of global finance.
