Sandro Tonali’s agent, Giuseppe Riso, has firmly dismissed reports linking the Italian midfielder with a move to Arsenal during the January transfer window.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Riso said, “We never had any conversation with Arsenal. Newcastle were never gonna let Tonali leave in January. There’s absolutely nothing into it.”

He added, “We didn’t even talk about it,” underlining that speculation around the transfer was unfounded.

The comments come amid widespread rumours suggesting Arsenal were exploring midfield reinforcements in the winter window, with Tonali’s name circulating as a potential target.

Riso’s clarification confirms that Tonali will remain at Newcastle United for the foreseeable future, continuing to play a key role in their midfield setup.

For Arsenal, the statement signals the need to look elsewhere for winter window options, while Newcastle supporters can expect Tonali to remain integral to the club’s plans.

Tonali, who joined Newcastle from AC Milan, has impressed with his composure and distribution in midfield, and the club appears keen to keep him amid growing interest from other European sides.
