Top-flight Turkish football club Trabzonspor has confirmed its continued interest in signing gangling Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu for EPL club Southampton.
The move was made known by Trabzonspor President Ertugrul Dogan who confirmed the club’s continued interest in the player, stating that discussions are still in progress.
“Onuachu is also our coach’s first request. We are talking to him. He is also telling his club. We made a serious offer,” Dogan told Turkish website NTV Spor.
“We made an offer with 6 million euros and bonuses. His club’s demand of 15 million euros continues. The transfer period is ending. I think it will result positively in a loan or purchase like the last time. Our talks are ongoing.”
Onuachu was loaned to Trabzonspor last season, where he made an impression by scoring at least 17 goals in all competitions for the Black Sea Storm.

This comes about two weeks after Southampton FC Russel Martin sang the praise of Onuachu.
Martin, who spoke in an interview, said that Paul has trained well in pre-season and has a different profile than other strikers in the team.
He noted that the current Paul is more confident compared to last season, attributing the change to the difficulties many players faced during the previous pre-season.
The coach emphasized using Paul and Kylie Walker-Peters differently this summer and in the upcoming season.
