It has been claimed that English Premier League (EPL) club Manchester United and RB Leipzig have started direct talks to recruit Benjamin Šeško, a highly regarded Slovenian striker.

As Ruben Amorim looks to expand his attacking options, the Premier League’s biggest clubs, including Newcastle, are reportedly eager to sign the talented 21-year-old striker this summer.

After joining Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg in 2023, Šeško has made an impression in the Bundesliga thanks to his quickness, skill in the air, and clinical finishing.

”Manchester United and RB Leipzig are in direct talks again to adjust the fee package and add-ons, trying to get it done ASAP.

‘‘Follows Šeško’s decision to join #MUFC as revealed last night with personal terms agreed. Šeško will train separately until the deal is done… ready to fly,’’ transfer guru Fabrizio Romano wrote on his official X page (formerly Twitter).

According to reports, talks are continuing between the two clubs, with United keen to act fast in response to interest from other major European teams. With the striker’s contract expiring in 2028, Leipzig is reportedly sticking to their price.

With 14 goals in all competitions last season, Šeško is regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young attackers. In addition to giving Rasmus Højlund competition and cover, his arrival at Old Trafford would provide United’s attack with more depth before the upcoming season.
