In an attempt to increase their attacking alternatives, German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and Chelsea have started direct talks about a possible move for Nico Jackson, a striker.

Following the departure of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and ongoing depth issues behind Harry Kane, Bayern has reportedly identified the 23-year-old Senegal international as a top target to bolster their forward line, according to sources familiar with the talks.

Per respected transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich have initiated club-to-club talks with Chelsea for the transfer of the player, who has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

“FC Bayern are again today in direct club-to-club talks with Chelsea for Nico Jackson.

”Discussions about the formula of the deal, as #CFC has one international loan spot left, and it has to include the obligation to buy.

‘‘Nothing done so far on the player/club side, but Bayern keep insisting.” Romano wrote on his official X page.

Jackson, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal last summer for a fee worth approximately £32 million, has been criticised for his inconsistent play despite showing signs of promise in his first Premier League season. Bayern’s recruitment team has taken notice of his speed, agility, and versatility in spite of his slow start to life in the EPL.

Chelsea is believed to be amenable to negotiations for the player’s transfer, but only if the German champions provide an offer that considers Jackson’s long-term worth.

Under Enzo Maresca, the Blues are constantly reshaping their team, and they are careful to balance the need for Financial Fair Play with preserving squad depth.
