Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social and the Truth+ streaming service, has announced that it now holds approximately $2 billion in Bitcoin and related digital assets. This development marks a major step in the company’s ongoing Bitcoin treasury initiative, funded through stock sales and bond issuances.
According to the company, about two-thirds of its $3 billion in liquid reserves are now allocated to Bitcoin. An additional $300 million has been earmarked for Bitcoin-related options, which could be converted into BTC in the future based on market conditions.
Devin Nunes, the company’s CEO, reaffirmed their commitment to this strategic shift, stating that the move supports financial autonomy and protects the company from potential banking restrictions. He also mentioned that this Bitcoin-focused approach would complement the planned launch of a utility token within the broader Truth Social ecosystem.
This announcement follows several significant legislative victories for the crypto sector. Just recently, President Trump signed the GENIUS Act into law, a stablecoin-focused bill widely regarded as a major win for the digital asset space. Bitcoin was trading at around $117,732 at the time of the media release.
Some industry observers believe these developments are part of a broader strategy by Trump to cement his influence over the crypto landscape. His associated projects — including the WLFI stablecoin and the TRUMP memecoin — have seen increased traction in recent weeks.
Earlier this year, Trump also issued an executive order to establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve for the United States. While some expected this to involve government-held crypto from legal seizures, his team is reportedly exploring alternative funding paths, including the controversial idea of revaluing historical U.S. gold certificates.
