The billionaire who owns SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, will interview Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Monday night.
Following the announcement of Democratic presidential nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris’ choice of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, the former president is scheduled to speak with Musk.
It also comes after investigations into a political action committee that supports Trump and that Musk claims he founded were made public.
Live streamer Adin Ross recently had an interview with the Republican presidential nominee at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.
“On Monday night I’ll be doing a major interview with Elon Musk,” the former president wrote on his Truth Social media platform. “Details to follow,” Trump added, as reported by US publications including The Hill newspaper.
The tech billionaire, whose public persona has grown more contentious and right-wing, formally endorsed Trump last month on the day that the candidate was shot during a Pennsylvania campaign rally.
Musk restored Trump’s account after he took over X, the old Twitter, in 2021.
The account had been suspended by the platform’s previous owners following the rioting at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Trump seemed to abandon his long-standing opposition to electric vehicles at a Saturday campaign event because of Musk’s endorsement.
“I have to be pro-electric cars because Elon gave me such strong endorsements,” he remarked.
Musk has refuted rumours that he intends to contribute a portion of his enormous wealth to Trump’s reelection campaign, saying he will not be “donating money to either candidate” for president.
A Wall Street Journal story claimed that Musk, who also controls SpaceX and Tesla, promised to donate USD 45 million a month to a new political action committee that supports Trump.
