Dr. Jeffrey Guterman, a retired Mental Health Counselor and well-known commentator, has raised questions about the commitment of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to working with President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria.

Dr Guterman’s query is in light of allegations of a forged university degree submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by Tinubu.

Atiku Abubakar, Tinubu’s political rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, had accused Tinubu of forging his certificate.

Atiku’s comment comes days after an official of the Chicago State University stated that the certificate Tinubu submitted to INEC did not emanate from the institution.

In a poser to Blinken on social media, Dr. Guterman raises the question of whether the U.S. government should reconsider its involvement with Tinubu in light of these allegations.

He noted that allegations of forgery can have significant political and legal consequences, potentially affecting Tinubu’s political standing.

As of now, there has been no official response from Secretary Blinken or the U.S. government regarding their stance on the matter.
