Uganda Airlines took to social media to celebrate an extraordinary homecoming with the successful inaugural flight from Entebbe to Lagos.
The airline said the flight was skillfully led by Captain Isaac Ogoyi, who has strong connections to Nigeria.
According to a statement by the airline, the Entebbe to Lagos route represents a significant expansion for Uganda Airlines, fostering more excellent connectivity between the two nations and opening up new opportunities for travel and trade.
It said the inaugural flight marks an essential milestone in the airline’s journey to provide passengers with convenient and efficient travel options, enhancing regional connectivity and strengthening ties between Uganda and Nigeria.
The Ugandan government had said it would export goods ranging from dairy products, fresh fruits and coffee to Nigeria now that the direct flight to Lagos is operational.
The Entebbe- Lagos flight will be three times a week. Entebbe is a city in Central Uganda located on the Lake Victoria peninsula, approximately 36 kilometres (22 mi) southwest of the Ugandan capital city, Kampala.
The city is the location of Entebbe International Airport, Uganda’s most prominent commercial airport, Uganda Airlines’ base.
