Nigeria international Victor Boniface is set to undergo surgery for a persistent knee injury, sources report. The 25-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at Werder Bremen from Bayer Leverkusen.
Boniface has struggled for playing time this season, failing to complete a full 90 minutes and accumulating just 326 minutes for Bremen. The knee problem, which initially appeared minor, has failed to improve since it occurred during training at the start of December.
