Former African Footballer of the Year Victor Nosakhare Ikpeba wants Monaco FC wonder-kid George Ilenikhena to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the future.
Ikpeba noted in a chat with SCORENigeria that Ilenikhena, who is also eligible to play for France, will be a great asset to the Super Eagles and that all efforts should be made to persuade him to switch allegiances.
He disclosed that he has been following the player’s remarkable progress at Monaco and also predicted that the quick player will certainly be one for the future of the Super Eagles.
According to Ikpeba, it will be a tough battle to convince Ilenikhena to play for Nigeria because Michael Olise has already opted to play for the French national team.

“I have been following the remarkable progress of the boy, he’s quick and will certainly be one for the future for the Super Eagles,” the former Super Eagles striker said.
“I know that he has already been capped by the French age-grade team, but we can still get him to play for the Super Eagles.
“It will be a tough battle to do this as we can see that (Michael) Olise has already opted for France, but I believe with the right and timely approach, beginning with getting to his family, he can go on to play for the Super Eagles.”
He added: “We already boast many proven strikers who are doing very well in Europe, but he is certainly one for the future and we should do everything to get him.
“This is the time to get him in and thereafter he can fight for his place in the team,” Ikpeba concluded.
