Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen’s €75 million release clause has reportedly been triggered by Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray. However, the much-anticipated transfer has hit a major obstacle due to the proposed payment structure.

Galatasaray is willing to cover the full release clause, but Napoli has reportedly rejected the offer, expressing dissatisfaction with the proposed method of payment.

According to journalist Santi Aouna, Napoli is demanding bank guarantees and an upfront cash payment—conditions that the Turkish club is currently unable to meet.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Osimhen has informed Napoli of his eagerness to finalise the move to Galatasaray as soon as possible.

“Victor Osimhen has informed Napoli of his desire to get the deal sealed with Galatasaray ASAP.

Galatasaray will pay €75m as the release clause value — but they are negotiating payment terms over five years, as exclusively revealed. Contract ready since Sunday; valid until June 2028 with an option,” Romano wrote on his official X page.

During the 2024–2025 season, Osimhen, 26, enjoyed a successful loan spell at Galatasaray, making 41 appearances in all competitions and contributing seven assists and 37 goals.

His impact made him a fan favourite and a top priority for Galatasaray’s management, helping the club secure both the Turkish Cup and the Super Lig title.

Reports suggest that personal terms have already been agreed with the prolific Nigerian striker on a four-year contract worth €16 million net per season.
