Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior has issued an apology for his emotional reaction after being substituted during Sunday’s El Clásico against Barcelona.

The Brazilian winger was visibly frustrated when manager Carlo Ancelotti replaced him in the second half of Madrid’s 2–1 victory at the Santiago Bernabéu. His reaction—captured by cameras—sparked mixed responses among fans and pundits.

Taking to social media, Vinícius expressed regret over his outburst, saying his passion sometimes gets the better of him; however, his respect for the coach and the team remains intact.

He added that the emotions of such a high-stakes match can be overwhelming, but he remains fully committed to Real Madrid’s objectives this season.

“Today I want to apologise to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in the Clásico.

Just as I have already done in person during today’s training, I also want to apologise again to my teammates, the club, and the president.

‘‘Sometimes passion gets the better of me because I always want to win and help my team. My competitive character stems from the love I feel for this club and everything it represents.

‘‘I promise to keep fighting every second for the good of Real Madrid, as I have done since the first day.” The talented player wrote on his official social media pages.
