Senator Kashim Shettima, the Vice President, has charged members of the National Council on Privatisation (NCP) to ensure that their economic decisions and reforms translate into tangible improvements in the lives of Nigerians nationwide.
Addressing the induction program for NCP members and key stakeholders at the NIA headquarters conference centre in Abuja on Monday, Senator Shettima urged a departure from past approaches. He emphasized the necessity of fostering economic growth aligned with the aspirations of Nigerian citizens.
The Vice President’s call comes after the inauguration of the newly constituted NCP at the Presidential Villa last Friday.
During the induction program, Senator Shettima emphasized the pivotal role of the Council in actualizing the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Highlighting the significance of the induction program, Senator Shettima stated, “This retreat is an opportunity for us to reaffirm our dedication, not only to our designated roles but also to the aspirations of every Nigerian.
“Our decisions here should extend beyond boardroom discussions and directly impact the lives of our fellow citizens, spanning from Abia State through Lagos State to Zamfara State.”
Expressing confidence in the Council’s commitment, Senator Shettima urged members to engage wholeheartedly, challenge conventional approaches, and envision a future where economic growth aligns harmoniously with the people’s aspirations.
He concluded, “We aim to navigate a path that aligns with the evolving dynamics of the world while remaining unwavering in our commitment to the nation’s progress.”
