Webull has officially reinstated cryptocurrency trading for its U.S. customers, reversing a suspension it put in place in 2023 while the company pursued a public listing. The feature is now live nationwide, allowing investors to trade crypto directly within the main Webull platform.
The brokerage originally launched digital asset trading several years ago but had shifted the service into a separate app, Webull Pay, after regulatory headwinds created uncertainty. With the relaunch, all services—including stocks, options, and over 50 cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana—are integrated into one unified platform.
Anthony Denier, U.S. CEO and Group President at Webull, said the move reflects customer demand. “When crypto was removed, it was against what our clients wanted. Bringing it back strengthens our mission to give users the flexibility to grow and manage wealth in one place,” he explained. He described the rollout as part of Webull’s “full-throttle” push into digital finance.
Denier also highlighted how the regulatory climate has shifted. He argued that under the Biden administration, crypto firms faced tougher reviews and uncertainty. But with Donald Trump’s administration now prioritising digital asset clarity and adoption, Webull sees a more favourable landscape for expansion.
Stephen Yip, CEO of Webull Pay, emphasised that crypto is becoming essential in modern portfolio strategies. “Our goal is to make access seamless, transparent, and simple for all users,” he said.
The relaunch also follows corporate restructuring, with Webull Pay being fully reintegrated into the parent company after approval from the board and shareholders. With more than 24 million users across 14 markets, the platform plans to extend crypto services internationally, building on its initial rollout in Brazil.
