Former governor of Zamfara, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, on Thursday, met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa to express his appreciation for Tinubu’s dedicated efforts in restoring peace to the state.
The meeting is the first between both leaders after Yari contested against Tinubu’s preferred candidate for the Senate Presidency.
President Tinubu had openly endorsed current Senate President Godswill Akpabio against Yari.
At the time, media reports indicated that all was not well between Tinubu and Yari.
The meeting between the duo has put paid to the reports as Senator Yari commended President Tinubu’s administration for its commitment to resolving the longstanding security challenges plaguing Zamfara state.
He highlighted the significant improvements in the security situation and the positive impact on the lives of Zamfara’s residents.
Senator Yari expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for the comprehensive approach taken to address the security issues in the state, which has resulted in a noticeable reduction in violence and an atmosphere conducive to development.
