Peter Obi’s running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has categorically stated that the general elections will end Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dominance in Lagos state.

The Labour Party (LP)’s presidential running mate declared during an interview on Channels TV that their party will defeat the All Progressives Congress in Lagos ahead of the 2023 polls.

The medical practitioner also dismissed the possibility of the Muslim-Muslim ticket in a complex setting like Nigeria saying it is dead on arrival.

Datti said: “Why today Tinubu is not the vice president of Nigeria is the same reason he cannot be president.”

“What couldn’t happen in 2015 when the then candidate Buhari asked for any nomination whatsoever from Tinubu – because that configuration has passed. It can no longer work in Nigeria. Muslim-Muslin ticket cannot work anymore. That configuration cannot work anymore.”

He added that Nigeria can not be likened to Saudi Arabia, the Vatican, Iran or Libya because the nation is a federation and has a special place in religious beliefs.

Datti added, “The creator of the heavens and earth does not make mistakes.” “This is the Federal Republic of Nigeria as duly filed at the United Nations and registered too.”
