Instant messaging platform, WhatsApp, is rolling out a feature that will allow users to set voice messages up to a 60-seconds long as status updates.
The latest update was noticed by WABetaInfo, a website dedicated to tracking WhatsApp’s latest developments.
As per the announcement, with WhatsApp’s take on Stories, users will have more uninterrupted opportunities to interact or express themselves with the new one-minute voice note cap on status.
New chat filters were earlier added to WhatsApp in the previous upgrade that improves user convenience for those who use the service like an inbox.
All Unread and Groups are a few filters that make it easier for users to view particular message kinds.
The update is being released concurrently for both iOS and Android devices, which just makes things better. There are no restrictions either; simply visit the App Store or Google Play Store to see if there have been any updates.
Open WhatsApp on your phone, select the ‘Updates’ option from the bottom bar and hit the pencil-shaped button to set voice notes as status updates. You may now record a voice note and share it as a status update by tapping the microphone button located at the bottom right of the screen.
Experts said that consumers will no longer need to divide their messages into several shorter recordings if they have the option to record and exchange longer voice notes.
For individuals who frequently exchange audio updates with their contacts, this improves communication and saves time.
Newsng understands that the purpose of this function is to enable users to communicate updates in a continuous voice note so that the message is more coherent and understandable.
We earlier reported that Telegram is attempting to compete with WhatsApp Business, which last year surpassed 200 million monthly active users as it launched its own “WHATSAPP BUSINESS” as a new in-app subscription.
