The Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, has urged the country’s troops not to relent to root out Hamas terrorists from Gaza.

Engaging in a discussion with combat soldiers and commanders stationed in the field, Halevi told them to take the fight to the enemies.

The discussion centred on the ongoing military operations in the Gaza region, shedding light on the IDF’s strategic approach to the situation.

During the dialogue, LTG Herzi Halevi acknowledged the challenges faced at the start of the operation but conveyed a sense of progress in shaping the contact line.

He emphasized the IDF’s commitment to targeting terrorists who come too close to the border, underlining a clear message: “Whoever gets close, gets killed.”

The chief of staff reaffirmed the IDF’s mission to neutralize terrorists in the area, thereby preventing potential threats to Israel.

Furthermore, LTG Herzi Halevi highlighted that while the operation had a difficult start, it would conclude with severe consequences for those on the opposing side.

He expressed the IDF’s intention to continue offensive actions beyond the contact line.

The operational situational assessment was conducted in the field and attended by high-ranking military officials, including BG Barak Hiram, BG Kobi Heller, COL Elad Shushan, and COL Haim Cohen.
