Nyesome Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, has set up a nine-person independent and investigative committee to look into the death of Greatness, 33, a victim of a robbery known as “One Chance” in Abuja.
The committee is made up of members of the Nigerian Medical Association, MDDAN, Medical Women Association, NANNM, ARD and others.
Wike has expressed his condolences to the deceased’s family and friends and pledged to ensure that the investigation is conducted with the highest level of transparency, honesty and professionalism.
According to a statement from the office of the FCT’s mandate secretary, Dr Dolapo Fasawa, the investigative committee will be inaugurated Thursday morning at 10 am at the FCT’s new office (Abuja Property Development Company area 11, beyond aegis).
Thank you for your patience and understanding, the Secretariat said, adding that the panel’s findings would be made public as soon as they were finalised.
According to The Nation, the victim was rushed to Maitama district hospital in Abuja where she was pronounced dead.
