Governor Nyesom Wike says he is still consulting with presidential candidates in the forthcoming general election in the interest of Nigerians.
Wike had met presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar; and Labour Party, Peter Obi, in London, within the week.
Addressing journalists upon his arrival from London on Friday, the Rivers State Governor bemoaned the situation in the country.
Wike, who confirmed meeting Atiku, Tinubu and Obi, urged Nigerians to discard insinuations and claims by some individuals.
“Consultation is still ongoing,” Wike announced. “Never mind some people who do not believe in the existence of this country. Leadership is not about you and your family. Leadership is about everybody. “Whatever we are talking about is for the interest of Nigerians,” he added.
Wike arrived in the country with Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state.
