The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Youth Vanguard says Governor Nyesom Wike’s frequent media outbursts are part of his agreement with Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The youth group alleged that Wike had signed an agreement with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to destroy the PDP.
This was contained in a communique signed by the group’s national coordinator, Bala Aboki, at the end of an emergency meeting in Kano on Friday,
“We have been made aware of an agreement entered into between the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and the former Lagos State Governor and the APC Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to destroy the PDP from within in exchange for his protection when he leaves office in 2023,” the statement said.
The group accused Wike of installing and removing party chairmen at will since the PDP was defeated in 2015.
The PDP youths recalled how the Rivers state governor installed Ali Modu Sheriff “who nearly destabilized the party.”
They claimed that Wike worked for the emergence of Uche Secondus as the PDP chairman.
“Before Prince Secondus could complete his tenure, Governor Wike again moved for his removal in order to pave way for his personal and selfish interest of campaigning for a southern president and later installed Senator Iyorchia Ayu as Chairman of the party. Today, the same Governor is calling for the removal of Senator Ayu. Is he the only person in the PDP?” the group asked.
