Edo PDP Chairman, Honorable Tony Aziegbemi, has fallen victim to a brazen kidnapping orchestrated by a group of armed assailants in Benin City, the capital of Edo State. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident unfolded just meters away from Aziegbemi’s residence in the Government Reservation Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports indicate that Aziegbemi was ambushed by his abductors, who cunningly tailed him in two Toyota Corolla cars, swiftly overtaking his jeep along Odaro Street, near Country Home road, at approximately 11 pm on Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shockingly, the PDP Chairman, who lacked police protection at the time, had just concluded a nocturnal meeting at the government house when he found himself pursued by the abductors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Confirming the distressing development, Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, disclosed that the abduction occurred within the jurisdiction of the New Etete Police Division, also known as Godwin Abbe Police Station. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He assured the public that law enforcement agencies had been mobilized to pursue the perpetrators vigorously, expressing optimism about Aziegbemi’s safe return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the driver accompanying Aziegbemi recounted the harrowing ordeal, detailing how their journey home from the government house was abruptly interrupted by the menacing presence of the kidnappers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite attempts to evade their pursuers, the assailants reappeared, forcefully intercepting their vehicle at a speed breaker point. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
