Nigeria’s immediate past vice president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has officially been appointed as the Chair of the Board of Directors for Climate Action for Africa (CAP-A).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Osinbajo, known for his dedication to environmental causes and extensive experience in leadership roles, expressed his enthusiasm for the position in a social media post, stating, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Thrilled to announce that I have accepted the offer to lead The Climate Action for Africa (CAP-A) as the new Chair of the Board of Directors! Truly excited to drive climate action across Africa alongside an incredible team.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are deeply honoured to have Prof Osinbajo join the CAP-A Board of Directors as Chair to assist with the next phase of our growth and our mission of unlocking Africa\u2019s potential as a global hub for climate action,\u201d said CAP-A Founder James Mwangi.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHis vast experience and passion for transforming African countries\u2019 economies in harmony with climatic needs, will be invaluable to CAP-A\u2019s mission, especially coming out of the inaugural Africa Climate Summit that made a strong push for accelerated climate action,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Climate Action for Africa (CAP-A) is an organisation dedicated to combating climate change and promoting sustainable environmental practices across the African continent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With its mission to catalyse transformative climate action, the appointment of Prof. Osinbajo as Chair of the Board of Directors is seen as a major stride towards achieving these objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Osinbajo’s appointment comes at a crucial time when the world is grappling with the consequences of climate change, and African nations are particularly vulnerable to its impacts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
