The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has expressed gratitude after the conclusion of his campaign rally in Oyo state.

The campaign organisation of Atiku/Okowa released a statement afterwards praising the Yoruba people for not being sentimental when it comes to electing their preferred candidate ahead of the general elections.

The statement reads: “The people of Oyo State, and, of course, the South West, are independent-minded, insightful, egalitarian, and politically astute with unparalleled nationalistic outlook that cannot be swayed by parochial and narrow-minded sentiments.

“The action of solidarity by our teeming members and supporters in Oyo State, like in other States, have sent very strong signal to the weak and scavenging political parties that the PDP remains firmly united in the South West and other parts of the country.”

Meanwhile, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and other prominent PDP party members were not present at the Atiku/Okowa rally in Ibadan suggesting there are internal crisis in the former ruling party.

However, the reports in PM News stated that the PDP are already making settlements, contrary to the speculation making the rounds.
