Nigerian actress, Kate Henshaw has slammed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), governor, Godwin Emefiele and President Muhammadu Buhari over the scarcity of the newly designed naira notes.
In a video on Instagram, the movie star accused the apex bank of dodging responsibility for the failed implementation of the new notes.
The movie star said she visited three banks without being able to withdraw cash. Kate dismissed claims by the CBN that it supplies N30M new notes to banks daily.
She questioned why the CBN banned the circulation of the old notes when the news notes were unavailable.
Meanwhile, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arrested famous Yoruba actress Simisola Gold for selling the new naira notes on social media.
The ICPC publicly announced the arrest of the actress on Wednesday, February 1, via its official Twitter handle.
The commission stated that it received information from an unidentified source that Simisola was partnering with some financial service sectors to remove notes from banking halls.
