The Federal Government announced that as part of its 3 Million Technical Training (3MTT) initiative, it will be awarding 50 computers every month to fellows.
Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, made this effort public when he said that the 270,000 fellows chosen for the program’s second batch will begin their learning phase.
The Minister announced that the fellows will receive their computers during the program’s monthly knowledge showcase when they will talk about their insights and real-world applications.
Aiming to establish Nigeria as a net exporter of talent and expand its pool of technical talent to assist the digital economy, the 3MTT programme is a component of the Renewed Hope agenda.
After starting with 30,000 participants, the programme has grown to include 270,000 fellows in its second cohort, which represents 10% of its aim of 3 million participants.
“We are pleased to announce the start of the learning phase of the second cohort of 3MTTNigeria.
“Thank you to all of our fellows for your patience as the staff worked to ensure that everything was in place before the start of your sessions.
“As you begin your learning adventure in the 3MTT program, there is always much to look forward to,” Tijani stated.
The framework of the programme was created in cooperation with government organisations, private sector organisations, educational institutions, training providers, and development organisations.
We earlier reported that to establish Nigeria as a pioneer in the continent’s artificial intelligence (AI) development, the government of that nation has introduced Nigeria’s first multilingual large language model (LLM) through the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.
