The African Action Congress (AAC) has launched a scathing critique, calling out Nigerian governors for alleged exploitation and mismanagement.
The party was reacting to the recent reports of Nigerian governors’ lavish spending in their various states.
Distinguishing themselves from alleged extravagant spending habits within the ruling elite, the AAC championed a platform centred on practical, people-focused agricultural programs, vowing to utilize national wealth exclusively for the betterment of the populace.
Defying sceptics, the opposition party asserted the viability of its policies, advocating for responsible governance encompassing infrastructural development, food security, education, and national safety.
In a statement by its national chairman, Omoyele Sowore, the party stated:
“Following the exposè on many Nigerian Governors under the Tinubu regime, we hope it’s getting clearer that the ruling class, across all party lines, are only united in stealing and pauperizing the people.
“When we rolled out our manifesto for total liberation, the ruling class mobilized its propaganda arm to disinform the people, to make them feel it’s not realistic to lead a good and decent life.
“We hope the people can now see for themselves that we are realistic with our policies, considering the resources available. We continue to say that Nigeria does not have a wealth generation problem. The problem with Nigeria remains wealth distribution.
“The AAC is the real deal. We are real because we are not planning to buy rechargeable fans with N2 billion. There are no plans to buy perfumes worth thousands of dollars.
“We want to feed the nation through modern, people-engaged agricultural programs and not spend billions on meals for family and friends. Our party plans to spend all the wealth of the people on the people. So when they tell you that the policies of the AAC are not realistic, you know what to reply them with.
“It is not rocket science to fix roads, feed the people, secure the country, and build schools to educate our people. It is not rocket science to be responsible.”
