Not less than 50 people were reported to have been poisoned at a marriage in Kirkuk, Iraq’s northern province due to consumption of unhealthy food, a local media reported.
In line with the record, the incident occurred in the town of Hawija, west of Kirkuk, the capital city of the cognominal province.
The provincial wellness leader, Ziyad Khalaf, stated some of the cases were mild whilst a few have been extreme.
He continued that all those poisoned had obtained the required medical treatment in the clinic.
The incident occurred a few days after a serious fire destroyed a wedding corridor in a predominantly Christian town in Iraq’s northern province of Nineveh, killing 114 people and injuring more than two hundred others.
