The President of the Economic Community of West African States [ECOWAS], Mr Omar Touray, has expressed concerns over Niger Republic stating that it affects the community.
The president explained his concerns while delivering an end-of-year report in Abuja today, noting that the military rule in Niger is not accepted by other African leaders.
He revealed that the situation in Niger also Affects ECOWAS and its leaders and rightful provisions by the community must be followed.
Niger is known as a member of ECOWAS and is still a member of the community, therefore, anything happening to Niger populace affects ECOWAS he said.
President Touray, during his report, stressed one of ECOWAS objectives which was having a uniform currency adding that the decision will require political acceptance and other key economic factors.
To achieve this we ought to work on inflation and utilize public debt for conversions, every West African finance minister is familiar with this inflation concern. Inflation is a problem in the ECOWAS community and other countries abroad also experience it.
