Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the former Senate President, has expressed profound sadness over the tragic bombing incident that took place during the Maulud Nabiy celebration in Tundun Biri, Igabi LGA, Kaduna State.
Through his official Twitter handle, @bukolasaraki, he conveyed heartfelt condolences to the government, people of Kaduna State, and the affected families.
Saraki extended his deepest sympathies to those impacted by the distressing event, offering prayers for the healing of the wounded and peace for the departed souls.
He emphasised the necessity for a comprehensive and transparent investigation to identify any operational shortcomings that might have contributed to the heartbreaking error.
He urged immediate measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future, stressing the importance of ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians.
The former Senate President highlighted the significance of this moment as a time for national introspection, calling for unified action and a renewed commitment to core values such as patriotism, justice, and compassion.

Saraki’s remarks come as more Nigerians condemn the action of the Nigerian Army over the incident.
The Army’s drone had mistakenly bombed the area, sparking outrage in the country.
The Chief of Army Staff. Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja has since visited the area and apologised to the villagers.
