Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum and Kwara state governor, orchestrated the successful negotiations that ended the strike initiated by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN).
The resolution marks a significant milestone in Nigerian governance and inter-institutional relationships.
The strike, which had led to disruptions in parliamentary activities, was resolved through extensive and constructive negotiations.
Governor Abdulrazaq, alongside fellow governors and the Conference of Speakers under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin played a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless dialogue that addressed the core concerns of the striking PASAN members.
The negotiations were marked by patriotism, pragmatism, and cooperation from all sides involved. PASAN’s leadership exhibited commendable cooperation throughout the process, resolving various pending issues, including their call for functional Assembly Service Commissions across all 36 states of Nigeria.
Expressing his optimism, the Kwara state governor emphasized the broader implications of the resolution.
He highlighted its potential to strengthen the country’s institutions and bolster the democratic experience for all citizens.
”I’m excited to have led the successful negotiations that culminated in the suspension of the strike embarked upon by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN).
”I am upbeat that the resolution of these issues of national importance and the goodwill of all the parties will help to strengthen our institutions and democratic experience as a country,” the governor wrote on his social media pages.
