Kogi State House of Assembly Majority Leader, Alhaji Murktar Bajeh has resigned from his position in protest of the terrorism allegations thrown at him and eight other colleagues by Governor Yahaya Bello.
Governor Bello had on March 23, 2023, called nine out of the 25 assembly members terrorists for their alleged roles during the House of Assembly elections.

There was a call by the governor in a letter to Speaker Matthew Kolawole to suspend the nine members and investigate their roles during the elections.
However, Bajeh in a letter to the Kogi State House Assembly voluntarily stepped from the majority leader position.
Bajeh’s major reason for stepping down was in a protest of being called a terrorist by Governor Bello.
