The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg announced that his social media app, Threads has surpassed 175 million monthly active users.
This announcement coincides with the approaching first anniversary of Threads.
Though it hasn’t experienced the same kind of dramatic growth as it did during its original launch period, Threads, which debuted on July 5, 2023, has seen a steady increase in users since then.
Threads is growing consistently, in contrast to X, which is led by Elon Musk and has not yet released comparable user data.
After reporting 130 million monthly active users in February, Zuckerberg later disclosed in April that Threads now had over 150 million monthly users.
Zuckerberg revealed that Threads now had over 150 million monthly users in April, following his February disclosure of 130 million monthly active users.
The revised figure coincides with Musk’s recent assertion that half of X’s 600 million monthly active users utilise the platform every day.
It is important to note that Musk did not specify if automated accounts or spam bots are included in the figure.
Meta provided insights about Thread usage as part of today’s announcement.
Stating that 63% of all Threads entries are text-only, Meta claims that most users visit the site for the text content rather than the visuals.
However, as one in every four postings on Threads has at least one image, this does not imply that photographs are not shared there.
According to internal views at Meta, Threads has the potential to grow to be the next big platform for the company, with a billion users.
To maintain this growth, Meta is concentrating on important markets, like as Japan, where it believes there are chances to win over more X users.
We previously announced that Mark has finally released its long-anticipated Threads API, enabling developers to create experiences around it.
