Matthew Hassan Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese has offered special prayers to God for President Muhammadu Buhari to successfully handover power come May 29, 2023.
The clergyman addressed President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that he should face the major problems ravaging the country not only to center on infrastructure or empty rhetoric about the dividends of democracy.

Kukah also sent a message to the Supreme Court, urging the justices to uphold their conscience and integrity and make decisions based on the spirit of the law and the best interests of the country.
The fearless preacher said that the political class has invaded the sacred temples of justice, casting doubt on the court’s reputation as the last hope for citizens.
He stated that Nigerians are closely watching the outcome of the tribunal and that the justices should uphold their conscience and integrity and make decisions based on the spirit of the law and the best interests of the country.
