British-born Nigerian striker Chuba Akpom has declared that his future will be decided by Dutch Eredivisie club Ajax Amsterdam at the end of the current season.
Akpom, who opened up about his future after Ajax’s recent 4-1 win over F.C. Volendam, stated that all he wants to do at the moment is have fun with his football.
The 28-year-old joined the four-time UEFA Champions League winners on a five-year contract after making the move from Middlesbrough. He also noted that he cannot predict the future.

“I don’t know yet what the club wants. I just want to have fun and play football; it doesn’t matter where. We have two more games to play and then we will see what happens.
I cannot predict the future. The most important thing is that I enjoy it. Whether I start or have to come from the bench, I do what I have to do,” the Hale End Academy graduate told ESPN in quotes revealed by Voetbal International.
Akpom, who has already scored 15 goals in 30 games in all competitions for his team, signed a five-year contract to join Ajax from Middlesbrough last summer. The €12.3 million transfer fees may potentially rise to €14.3 million with add-ons.
