Popular Nigerian socialite, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, Sunday visited the governor of Abia state, Alex Otti.
Mr Otti who announced Mr Iyiegbu’s visit via his Twitter handle said the popular Instagram celebrity visited to discuss business opportunities in his state.
The meeting was held at the governor’s residence in Nvosi, Isialangwa South LGA.
According to the tweet, which has received over 4,000 views on the social blogging platform, the businessman was greeted by other leaders from the state.
During the meeting, the governor stated that Mr Iyiegbu acknowledged the outstanding development being done in his state and offered to set up a major part of his business in Aba, a popular economic nerve in the state.
“Today, I played host to a renowned business tycoon and investor Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana and his brother Ike Iyiegbu at my residence in Nvosi, Isialangwa South LGA, Abia State,” Mr Otti said.
“While he emphasised that he does not visit Governors, he had to visit given our pedigree. He said the positive things we have started doing have made a lot of people want to come back and invest here.
“He promised to set up a major part of his business in Aba as he is already in the process of acquiring land to build industries that will employ people in God’s Own State.”
Mr Iyiegbu, 48 who hails from Idemili South, Anambra State, is chairman of the Cubana Group.
He made headlines in July of 2021 when friends, celebrities, and other business associates gathered in Oba village in Anambra State, Nigeria’s South-east, for the burial of his late mother.
