The Rivers State Police Command has taken swift action in response to a viral social media video that showed police officers allegedly assaulting a lady.
According to the command’s public affairs department, the officers in question have been arrested.
To bring about a thorough and impartial investigation, the Rivers State Police Command extended a heartfelt plea to the lady seen in the video to come forward and share her side of the story.
The command said the appeal to the lady is made with the utmost sincerity, and her safety and well-being are of paramount concern.
It said multiple avenues have been provided to facilitate her cooperation in this endeavour.
”The police officers on a video trending on social media have been arrested.
The command is pleading to the lady on the video to contact 08036219523 to share her side of the story as a case of assault on members of the public by a police officer sacrosanct.” the command stated.
The command acknowledged the public’s vigilance and concern in such matters and expressed gratitude for citizens’ role in holding the police force accountable.
The command further reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding the rights and security of all members of the public.
