A leading technological company in Vietnam, FPT, revealed intentions to build an artificial intelligence (AI) plant with Nvidia for $200 million.
As per a joint statement released on Tuesday, FPT will be using Nvidia’s graphics chips and software.
The company wants to use Nvidia’s experience to further AI research in Vietnam. At the proposed data centre factory, it will concentrate on creating AI solutions and applications, such as generative AI and autonomous driving which will feature NVIDIA’s latest technologies, including NVIDIA AI Enterprise software and frameworks and NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs.
FPT Corporation (FPT) is a globally leading technology and IT services provider headquartered in Vietnam. FPT operates in three core sectors: Technology, Telecommunications, and Education.
The factory will create applications and solutions on generative AI (a type of AI that can create new content and ideas), autonomous driving and green transformation.
“This empowers FPT to realize the vision of transforming Vietnam into an AI nation and accelerating the adoption of AI applications in Asia, including but not limited to Vietnam, Japan, and Korea.”
FPT chairman Truong Gia Binh said that the company’s vision is to “turn Vietnam into an AI hub of the world.”
Nvidia vice president of worldwide AI Initiative Keith Strier said: “By accelerating innovation in healthcare, agriculture, climate, manufacturing, and more, AI has the potential to improve lives and strengthen the economies of every nation.”
“FPT is working with Nvidia to empower organizations across Vietnam to drive transformation, helping the country become an AI nation,” he added.
Newsng gathered that to fully utilise Nvidia’s cutting-edge products and technologies, FPT has joined the Nvidia Partner Network as a Service Delivery Partner and plans to advance to the status of Global Systems Integrator.
Together, these partnerships will enable FPT to develop custom cloud services, hardware, software, and—most importantly—generative AI solutions. We earlier reported that Nvidia has launched a general-purpose generative artificial intelligence (AI) platform for humanoid robots, GR00T.
