Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has pledged his support for the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the position of speaker of the House of Representatives.
The inauguration of the 10th national assembly is around the corner and the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) chieftain has agreed to do everything possible for a member of the opposition party to emerge speaker.
According to This Day, Governor Wike made this declaration on Monday, April 3, 2023, in Port Harcourt while hosting the delegates of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Wase.

Wike however gave the condition that the nominated individuals for the positions must merit and earn it.
He added that the personalities must be experienced and are ready to set the green chambers in motion for the 2023 administration.
PM News quoted Governor Wike saying: “The way we are now, the truth must be told that we are going to support the leadership of your party at the national level. I am not going to support anybody that is coming from anywhere.”
