The Honourable Minister of Sports Development in Nigeria, Senator John Enoh, has charged the Falconets to defeat Ghana to defend their gold medal in the women’s football final at the ongoing African Games in Accra, Ghana.
Enoh charged the Nigerian female U-20 team to do the needful against their Ghanaian counterparts during his visit to the team’s camp on Tuesday as the team prepares for the crucial final.
While addressing the players ahead of the game, Enoh emphasized the seriousness of their mission and the necessity of returning with gold for the country.
He said, “It matters for me to visit you all; it matters to our president and all Nigerians that you’ve come this far. The goal is to win the gold medal on Thursday, and it is an important goal for you and for the country.”
After defeating the Uganda Queen Cranes in the semifinals, the Nigerian Falconets advanced to the finals of the 2023 All Africa Games women’s football competition.
