The interim coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, George Finidi, has talked up the importance of the team’s scheduled friendly games against Ghana and Mali.
Finidi, who stressed how crucial both encounters are for the Super Eagles after the team’s first training session, said that the two games will be treated with the seriousness that they deserve.
The former Nigerian international, who is now in charge of the team following the departure of Jose Peseiro, also noted that he wants to make Nigerians proud with positive results in both matches.
“We want to make them proud,” Finidi said on NFF TV. “AFCON is gone, so these are two games that are very crucial for Nigeria, so we will take them seriously and get the best out of them.”
While looking ahead to the two games in which the Super Eagles will take on Ghana on March 22 and Mali on March 26, Finidi said that the coaching crew of the senior national team of Nigeria has to be calm and do the job properly because Nigerians are watching.
He said, ”As a coach, there’s responsibility, and that’s what we do, have to be calm, do the job, and do it properly because a lot of Nigerians are watching.”
