Kieran Trippier, the Newcastle United full-back, says he is not surprised by the success of Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid.
The two are preparing for England’s Euro qualifier against Italy, and Trippier told TribalFootball that Bellingham will be a success at the Bernabeu.
“It’s not a new thing at all, given these standards he is set,” Trippier said. “If you play well, the fans love you. Jude did really well at Dortmund, and he’s brought that experience with him to Madrid.
He’s playing with a lot of autonomy and the players are going to assist him the more. It’s fearful to think he is only 20 years old.”
Bellingham came to Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund FC in the summer for a price of €103 million.
The Spanish giants, who beat Liverpool and Manchester City in the race to sign the England international, have seen Bellingham score 10 goals and provide three assists in the 10 matches he has played for the club in all competitions this season.
Bellingham is one of the best players in the world in terms of his ability to control the ball, physicality and technical ability. Philipp Lahm described him as a ‘complete midfielder’.
He is also seen as one of the world’s great young players. Bellingham is well-known for his hands-out, head-high, chest-out goal celebrations.
