Abdullahi Umar, the National Chairman of the APC, has declared that the party will defend its mandate in Nasarawa following its victory in the governorship election held on 18 March 2023.
Speaking at the event, which was hosted by the National Vice-Chairman of the North Central Zone, Alhaji Muhammad Rijau, Mr Ganduje declared that “we have won the election and we will protect our mandate.
He further stated that “Nasarawa State belongs to the APC and the APC belongs to the people of Nasarawa State, and we are in charge and will remain in charge through the grace of God.”
This declaration was made as Mr Abdullahi Sule (Governor-in-Office of Nasarawa), his immediate predecessor, Sen. Umar Tanko Al-Makura (Member of the National Assembly from Nasarawa State), and the Senator representing the state’s Upper Chamber at the National Assembly eulogized the leadership qualities of Mr Bello.
Sule noted that Aliyu had distinguished himself as a political leader who could provide the APC with the necessary leadership to enable his administration to bring its objectives to fruition.
He noted that Nasarawa State had only begun to experience real development in 2011, following the emergence of the Congress Progressives Change, which later changed its name to the APC.
“It was only in 2011 that we began to see real development in the state, such as education, health, infrastructure, roads, and the way forward,” he said.
Al-Makura, in a goodwill message, noted that Bello’s track record and background made him the ideal choice for the current APC state chairman. He urged members to collaborate and support the current APC chairman, while also urging them to avoid any rumours or actions that could lead to discord within the party.
