President Muhammadu has expressed his displeasure over the lingering strike action embarked on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) since February 14.
Addressing Nigerians on Saturday, October 1, President Buhari noted that his administration made progress in addressing the ASUU-Federal Government disagreement despite scares resources.
“I must confess that I am very pained by the recurring disruption to our tertiary education system and I am using this Independence Day celebration to reiterate my call for the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to return to the classroom while assuring them that they will deal with their contending issues within the limits of the scarce resources available,” Buhari said.
“This administration has made appreciable progress in redressing these issues that have been lingering for over eleven years.”
The president reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the security and economic situation of the country while tackling corruption.
