Chude Nnamdi, an official of the Labour Party (LP), has asserted that Peter Obi was the rightful winner of the February 2023 Presidential Election.

Allegations of election irregularities and judicial interference accompany Nnamdi’s claim.

In a social media post, Nnamdi stated, “Let it be on record that Peter Obi won the February 2023 Presidential Election in Nigeria, but his victory was hijacked by political rogues and the Nigerian judiciary.”

The allegations have stirred debate and raised questions about the integrity of the election process and the judiciary’s role in Nigeria’s recent presidential election.

The 2023 Presidential Election in Nigeria was highly anticipated, with numerous candidates vying for the nation’s top leadership position.

Official election results were announced following the conclusion of the election process, declaring a winner.

Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party had filed a case at the presidential election tribunal challenging Bola Tinubu’s declaration as the contest winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Some of Nnamdi’s followers reacted to his claims.

 Rita Sunshine wrote:

”Peter Obi won majority of votes cast in the last election. The issue is he had no structure in that he isn’t crooked behaviour like buying an electoral body like INEC instead, he relied heavily on the integrity of INEC.”

”It wasn’t just an ordinary win, but with a landslide. The mood in the land today is a copy of the same on the day the rigged result was announced. It would’ve been an out-of-proportion roar of joy and ecstasy if the judgement had gone PO/Datti way; just imagine it.”
