Former President Buhari mourns passing of Governor Akeredolu and ex-Speaker Na’Abba

Former President Muhammadu Buhari expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Governor Akeredolu of Ondo State, praising him as a towering figure in both politics and law.

In his condolence message, President Buhari lamented the loss of a cherished friend, extolling Governor Akeredolu’s exceptional leadership qualities that had inspired countless individuals within law and politics. 

He offered prayers for the eternal repose of his soul while extending heartfelt condolences to the Akeredolu family, the government and people of Ondo State, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.

In a separate message to the Na’Abba family in Kano, the former President mourned the demise of former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, describing it as a substantial loss to the nation.

President Buhari eulogized Speaker Na’Abba for his profound insights into critical issues and unparalleled grasp of the political landscape. 

He commended Na’Abba’s pivotal role in defending democracy when it faced severe threats from powerful elements, acknowledging the late Speaker’s legacy as a political activist.

Expressing his condolences to the government and people of Kano State, President Buhari remembered Na’Abba for leaving behind an indelible mark through his activism and astute political engagements. 

He invoked prayers for divine forgiveness for the late Speaker’s shortcomings.
