The Anambra state governor, Charles Soludo has declared that no child in any government-owned and run school in Anambra state would be required to pay any institution fee as long as he remained the state governor of the state.
He said this in a video he posted on Thursday via his X platform formerly known as Twitter.
He also said this free education system is for students from nursery school Level to junior secondary school level.
His Words
“What we’re launching today starting from the beginning of this term, and so far I am in this chair as a governor of Anambra state, all public schools owned by the government run by the government from nursery to jss3.
“Nobody and none of them would be required under any circumstances to pay one kobo anymore.
“While many Nigerians have applauded the governor’s statement, many have described it as stale. Stating that the state already practices a free education system. And they also encouraged him to focus on the quality of the education system.
Checks by News.ng have shown that Anambra state tops most Nigerian education charts on good educational performance in Nigeria.

“Please follow it up by ordering all the policemen and security personnel to pick up any child hawking or in the main market during school hours. They can go there or help their parents after school hours.
“You also need to provide a basic school meal for children whose parents can not afford it, so they are encouraged to be in school.
