Khalil Halilu, the CEO of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), on Wednesday, visited the Senate committee chairman on engineering, Senator Enzewa Francis Onyewuchi.
Sharing the update on his social media page, Halilu said he shared
the strategic roadmap for 2023-2027 on NASENI with Senator Onyewuchi.
”The primary objective of this plan is to harness Nigeria’s rich resources to propel the nation’s industrialisation efforts, he said.
Halilu also emphasised a shift in NASENI’s approach, moving away from solely designing prototypes to ensuring the production of finished products that are not only usable but also commercially viable.
”This innovative direction aims to transform our operations, departing from previous practices where prototypes remained shelved.
”The new focus is on delivering tangible, market-ready products that contribute significantly to Nigeria’s industrial landscape,” he noted.
He thanked the Senate committee on engineering for their input, acknowledging their alignment with NASENI’s vision.
”This strategic shift positions NASENI to play a more dynamic role in fostering industrial growth and product innovation in Nigeria,” he added.
