Mr. Eazi, the popular singer/entrepreneur, has revealed that he never had any intention of becoming a musician. Instead, he found himself in the music industry by chance.
“I was bored with music, so I decided to get into tech,” he said in an interview with a media personality, Angela Lee. “I’ve got a tech company, and after Coachella 2019, I performed on day one and I came off the stage with nothing.
There was no sadness, no joy, in fact nothing. For someone who had no intention of becoming an artist, here I am playing my third year, and I still feel nothing.”
For Mr Eazi, the COVID-19 pandemic was a “wake-up call” for him to take a break from music and focus on other opportunities.
He said, “I started Empawa, and I was getting educated on the music industry, but I was so burnt out that I didn’t even want to listen to music anymore. I just wanted to let my team handle it.”
He added that he had always wanted to become an entrepreneur, and now that music had given him access to resources and capital, he wanted to launch his own fund, “like Jay-Z.” Mr. Eazi also said that he plans to invest in the film industry starting next year.
